One of the aspects that keeps me excited from the inside as a XIII Pocket artstic ensemble member, is the refreshing nature of the approach. Process and the evolution of a piece of work seems just as important to the end product, in fact its imperative to the end product coming to fruition. We're an active company, exercising our creative bones without regards to boundaries of mediums. Film and theatre can sometimes be blurred - both are presentations. And sometimes its best for the communication of a tale to remain as a piece of literature; as print ready to flexibly sparks images in a wide array of minds and eyes. And in being active, it is this love of process that keeps the machine of production from becoming a sterile breeding ground for things that are just entertainment. I'm excited that the new season has inevitably rounded the corner quicker than expected. After a beneficial primer - the incubator series at the DCA Studio Theatre where we got to workshop three new original plays: Bosto by myself, The Displaced by Anthony Nikolchev, and the upcoming Cash by Stephen Louis Grush - we got our feet wet and appetites hungry for more of this process. And it will be a thrilling venture to hone and explore each beast and soon, very very soon, share it.
